1. Who We Are

WhaleWatch is an independent mobile application that monitors public prediction market data from Kalshi and Polymarket and alerts users when large trades ("whale" activity) are detected. The app is developed and operated by an individual developer.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the app:

• Email address and user ID: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and a unique account identifier from that provider. This is used solely to identify your account and is linked to your subscription status via RevenueCat.
• Device identifier (UUID): A random unique identifier is generated and stored on your device. This ID is sent to our server to associate your preferences, watchlist, and alert history with your device.
• Push notification token (FCM token): A randomly generated identifier assigned by Firebase Cloud Messaging that allows us to send push notifications to your device.
• Alert preferences: Your in-app filter settings (minimum bet size, odds range, market type preferences, notification thresholds, etc.) are stored on our server so we can filter alerts before sending them to you.
• Watchlist data: Markets you save to your watchlist are synced to our server so you can track whale activity on specific markets across sessions.

All of the above data is also cached locally on your device using on-device storage to provide a seamless experience between sessions.

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or financial account information.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name or phone number
• Location data
• Financial account information
• Browsing history or activity outside the app
• Any biometric data

4. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to:

• Identify your account and manage your subscription status
• Deliver push notifications about whale activity that matches your filter settings
• Store your preferences between app sessions

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the app's core functionality.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except as necessary to operate the service:

• Firebase (Google): We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. Your device token is processed by Firebase as part of this service. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Firebase handles data.
• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. Your account identifier (from Google or Apple Sign-In) and email address are shared with RevenueCat solely to verify and manage your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
• Railway: Our server infrastructure is hosted on Railway. Server logs may temporarily contain device tokens in the course of normal operation. Railway does not access or use this data.

6. Data Retention

Your device token and preferences are stored on our server for as long as you use the app. If the app is uninstalled, your device token will eventually expire and be removed from our server. You can also reset your preferences at any time within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

WhaleWatch is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Prediction markets involve financial risk and are not appropriate for minors.

8. Data Security

All communication between the app and our server uses HTTPS encryption. Device tokens are not human-readable identifiers and cannot be used to identify or contact you.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to know: You can request a summary of what data we store associated with your device.
• Right to deletion: You can request deletion of all data associated with your device identifier by contacting us.
• Right to opt out of data sales: We do not sell your data to any third party.

To request deletion of your data, contact us at periscopeapps@proton.me with the email address associated with your Google or Apple account. Your device ID (found in app settings) may also be used to locate your data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
